The Gold Angels
These angel sculptures are formed from wire, fabric, paper, paste and paint. They are full formed figures.
The measurements vary slightly for the gold angels, from 9″ in width by 7.5″ in height. They were difficult to photograph. The gold paint reflected the light. The pose for each angel came about as I worked on it.
I made an arch from a wood board; carved and painted it. The five gold angels were mounted and displayed for the Christmas season.
The White Angel
This White Angel is a three dimensional figure measuring approximately 12″ in height and 10″ in width. It is a full form with fine detail. The overlay is fine cotton with hand worked edging. Several layers of paint were applied: The base coats create underlying shadows and the top coats provide translucence and luminescence.
