Every snowy day needs a snowman
Pencil drawing of a snowman for a children's book.
Tired and going home
I drew various winter scenes using pencil, ink, colored pencils or watercolor. This one of children heading home after a day of sledding is from a series of illustrations of children enjoying a snowy day.
Fun in the Snow
Pencil drawing of a little girl enjoying a snowy day, part of an illustration series for a children's book.
Snowball Fight
A drawing finished in colored pencil of a small boy enjoying a snowy day.
Slipping and Sliding in the Snow
A pencil drawing of a little boy playing in the snow. This one of a small boy is from a series of illustrations of children enjoying a snowy day.
Sliding to the Bottom of the Hill
Pencil drawing of a small child having fun in the snow, part of a series of illustrations for a children's book of winter fun.
A Little Parrot
A small drawing I sketched in pencil of a very worried parrot was finished with color effects in Photoshop.
A Balancing Act
A circus elephant balancing on a red ball. This elephant was a pencil drawing I finished with graphics in Photoshop. A fun aspect of Photoshop is building a scene from separate drawings as I did with the parrot, elephant and a very large red ball.
The Wandering Mouse
The Gray Mouse, is an example of combining a line drawing and graphics.

Winner of 2005 design competition for OBSTETRIC-FETAL PHARMACOLOGY RESEARCH UNITS program of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Agency of the National Institutes of Health.
Unfortunately I never received further communication from this agency.
This Logo is also an example of a pencil drawing finished in Photoshop.

Beach Figures
These two beach figures; Summer Girl and Summer Woman are stylized and exaggerated. They were drawn in pencil and finished in watercolor on 9″ by 12″ watercolor paper.
The Old Field House
This drawing of an old house is one I did years ago. I had no plan in mind when I started to draw and certainly no plan to add watercolor. I think that particular day I just ended up with time to explore possibilities.
Garden Steps
I was very eager to work with watercolor; learn color, the vocabulary, the methods of application and the types of paper. This image of Garden Steps measures 12″ in width by 18″ in height. This picture has been cropped to give a focal point.
A Man's Face
Study of man's face drawn with pencil. This is a small drawing measuring 5 1/2″ in width by 9″ in height.
Angel
Line drawing figure of an angel cut into a linoleum tile.
I printed a Christmas card of the image for family and friends.
